Antenna Audio [2004-2005]
I was hired in two roles at Antenna Audio. Antenna Audio’s Multimedia development was still an experiment when I was hired and they couldn’t dedicate a full time resource to it. Half my job was to lead new Flash development of projects on Pocket PC’s. The other half was to manage preparing audio based projects for Antenna’s various devices.
As the sole Flash Developer here, I worked with Flash on Pocket PC’s to create multimedia tours for the Boston Museum of Science (The Science of Star Wars) and the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
I also created a subtitle engine that could subtitle video or linear content in Flash. Prior to this application, it would take someone 4+ hours to subtitle 5 minutes of narrated video, I brought this time well down under an hour.
I developed a re-usable XML driven interface based on Antenna’s media structure for their audio tour devices. This allowed for an ease upgrade from an audio only device to a multimedia device with very little overhead. I also worked a great deal with audio and video compression in this position.
Although I would like to place links to my projects here, I’m under a NDA not to do so. I’d be happy to share the work I did here in person!
