Eveo [2006-2008]

Originally brought in to be part of Eveo’s team of Flash Developers, I quickly moved into a Senior Flash Developer roll managing development of long term projects. Not only was I primarily in charge of developing the framework, navigation, login, and animation templates for a project; but also for coordinating between and managing animators, video editors, project managers, and 3D motion graphics, artists, along with various contractors.

Typically we had multiple projects going at the same time, along with managing various last minute client requests. While working there I trained all of the artist/animators to use tools like tweener and basic ActionScript techniques to optimize our production experience so we could quickly adapt to changes requested of our team. Previously most animation was done traditionally on the timeline.

Working at Eveo, I created dozens of pharmaceutical presentations which sales rep’s use on tablet PC in clinical environments to educate doctors on the latest drug treatments. I worked primarily with ActionScript 2 in combination with Flash Screen Presentations to make a highly functional interactive product which can also include transparent video, interactive charts, and collecting usage data.

Typically most of Eveo’s products were run locally on various platforms, but we did web development as well (especially working a lot with video on the web).

Prior to leaving I started the effort to migrate their projects from ActionScript 2 to ActionScript 3, along with some initial development in Flex and Adobe Apollo (which became Adobe AIR).

Here are some of the projects and clients I worked with:

Note: as these projects were largely deployed via CD Rom, I’m in the process of uploading examples from my work here. It should be up soon…
